Psoriasis

But there is also psoriasis of nails, joints and external genitalia, but these forms are extremely rare.

The causes of psoriasis

psoriasis

This disease is due to a short life cycle. The fact is that in a healthy person, skin cells are updated every 30 days, ie the cycle of their division and ripening occurs in about 4 weeks. Psoriasis is, it can be said that an abnormal reaction of the body to various types of external stimuli, as a result, in some places, the upper layer of the skin dies in just 4-5 days, leaving behind the keratinized areas.

To date, psoriasis is considered a multifaceted disease, ie the disease is based on the whole set of reasons: immunological changes, metabolic disorders, various neurological and endocrine disorders concomitant.

The exact reasons for which a person has psoriasis was not finally established. There are several theories in this regard. According to one of them, two types of psoriasis are distinguished:

  • The cause of type I is inherited from breaking the immune system. This form of the disease, which affects the skin, is tired of about 65% of people and, most of the time, aged 18 to 25 years;
  • II The type of psoriasis appears in people over 40, is not inherited and is not associated with violations in immune system cells. Unlike the first type, the second includes nail psoriasis and joints.

According to another theory, psoriasis occurs only due to impaired immunity, whose causes may have infectious diseases, stress, alcohol, malnutrition, cold climate. Gramps, pepper and vinegar foods can cause exacerbation and worsen psoriasis. Psoriasis, according to this theory, is a systemic disease. And this means that with serious immune systems, the process can spread from skin to other tissues and organs, for example, to joints, as a result of which psoriatic arthritis develops.

Psoriasis symptoms

Symptoms of scalp psoriasis, knees, elbow joints and lumbar are inflamed peeling papules of red or pink. They are covered with silver scales (hence the name "Scamous Lichen"), which when hairstyle disappears easily. Over time, the spots increase in size, merge into large formations (plates) and affect more large areas and damaged skin bleeding and bleeding.

Nail psoriasis is manifested a little differently. First, nail plates are darkened, spots and time recesses appear on them. Often, with psoriasis, nails thickens and bend.

The symptom of psoriasis in the form of rash is accompanied by severe itching, especially on papules, but applies to nearby areas.

Depending on the seasonality of exacerbation, three types of psoriasis are distinguished: summer, winter and uncertain. Most of the time, a type of winter is found - its symptoms under the influence of sunlight weaken and sometimes completely disappear. In summer -shaped patients, on the contrary, the course of the disease worsens under the influence of the sun.
